Praise House, St. Johns is a visual meditation on memory, devotion, and communal survival in the Gullah Geechee Lowcountry of South Carolina. Centered on a historic praise house—small, unadorned, and sacred—the work honors spaces where worship, storytelling, resistance, and cultural continuity quietly lived.
Rendered in a stained-glass–inspired abstraction, layered blues, greens, and earthen golds echo moss-draped oaks, tidal rhythms, and the weight of ancestral presence.
